Anna Griffin, EA
Anna, the new owner of Sederburg & Associates as of 2022, is an enrolled agent (EA) with twenty-two years of experience. Having spent many years with various CPA and financial services firms, she has become a subject matter expert in establishing accounting best practices, enacting cost-reduction measures, and recommending ideal tax strategies for our clients. She is an influential leader to our staff and consistently builds a positive rapport with our clients. Thanks to her efforts, Sederburg & Associates has made Small Business Monthly’s list of the St Louis area’s top payroll firms every year since 2018, climbing to #2 for 2021. The sky’s the limit.  Anna is married with four children and likes to camp, read, travel, and attend concerts.

John Sederburg, EA, RTRP
Originally from Iowa, John earned his Master’s in Accounting from the University of Missouri-Columbia.  He has been providing high quality Income Tax and Accounting Services for over 56 years.  John loves getting to know his clients.  Recently, John turned over the reins to Anna Griffin, but he’s not going anywhere.  When you come into the office, make sure you stop and say Hello.  When not working, John enjoys spending time with his family.

Doug Osgood, EA
Originally from Jamestown, New York (home of Lucille Ball and the National Comedy Center), in 1993 Doug hopped a wagon train (that looked suspiciously like a Dodge Shadow) and made his way to St Charles.  After working 17 years with Jackson Hewitt, first as a preparer, then as a franchise general manager, Doug joined Sederburg & Associates in 2015.   His strong background gives him a unique perspective as both a preparer and in tax planning for individuals and businesses. In addition to his work with our clients, Doug manages our data entry staff and handles our in-house tax training. Doug is married with one son. His wife, a therapist at Saint Louis University Hospital, has tolerated him since 1985. During the off-season Doug writes western novels and short stories of various genres. His work has appeared in local anthologies, Saddlebag Dispatches, and in the April 2021 Chicken Soup for the Soul Too Funny.

Joe Whelan, EA, RTRP
Joe was born in St. Louis and has lived here all his life.  He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting. He retired from the State of Missouri Dept Economic Development after 29 years in accounting.  Joe has 37 years of tax preparation experience; 20 years as an Enrolled Agent (EA).  He worked with HR Block from 1987-2004 then in 2005 joined Sederburg & Associates.  He is a subject matter expert and proficient at preparing individual, business and trust returns.  Joe and his wife, Beth, has been married for over 40 years and have four adult children and four grandchildren.

Mike Larose
Mike grew up in Perryville, Missouri.  Having been a CPA for 35 years, Mike has vast accounting experience! He has 33 years tax experience, with 26 of those years working at Sederburg & Associates.  Mike worked for the U.S. Department of Defense for 30 years.   He enjoys boating on Mark Twain Lake.

Karen Munger
Karen Munger joined Sederburg & Associates as a full-time tax consultant in late 2019.  Karen has degrees in Accounting and Finance, and has worked in personal income tax (at Arthur Andersen, Chicago) and in trust administration (at Boatmen’s Bank, St. Louis). However, after 8 years of work, she took off 15 years to raise her family.  Karen started preparing personal income taxes again in 2016.    Karen loves to travel, especially anywhere with water. This is probably because she grew up in Florida on a lake.  She also takes long walks with her dog every morning.

Josh Lara
Originally from Chicago, Josh attended North Central College and played college football.  Josh settled in St. Louis in the summer of 2000, where he is now married and has one daughter.  While working full-time to support his family, he received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Missouri – St. Louis in 2014.  Having over 22 years of accounting and tax preparation experience, Josh joined Sederburg & Associates in August of 2021.  Josh is a proud Basset Hound dad, along with a Basset/Lab Mix and a Red Bone Coon Hound Mix.  He competitively bowls several nights a week and has achieved 3 – 300 games and 2 – 800 three-game series.

Kathy Surman
Kathy was born and raised in Chicago’s southwest suburbs. After moving to St. Louis, then to Florida, she settled back in Missouri in 1998. Kathy worked for the St. Charles County Juvenile office for over 15 years. She has been preparing taxes for over 20 years and has been with Sederburg & Associates for six years.  She’s been married over 45 years, has 3 children and 3 granddaughters.

Steve Hollrah, RTRP
Steve is part of a fifth-generation family to be born and raised in St. Charles County. He was raised on a farm and enjoyed many years as a 4H member and raising livestock. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Central Missouri, staying active in his college fraternity, Beta Sigma Psi, of which he recently served as President and Board member of the national education foundation.  Steve spent his professional career in the transportation field managing dealerships and as a regional manager for the central part of the US.  Steve is celebrating his 20th anniversary of preparing taxes, having spent most of his career at Sederburg & Associates.

Mary Kraemer
Mary is a new preparer for Sederburg & Associates. She specializes in individual and small business tax.  Mary has over 20 years of experience in public accounting. Prior to working on her own, she spent 12 years with local public accounting firm that specialized in small business bookkeeping and individual tax.  In addition to public accounting, Mary has passed the Series 65 exam and has experience in the financial advisory industry.

Dale Lindemann
Dale Lindemann was born and raised in St. Charles County, MO. He attended Washington University in St. Louis, where he majored in accounting. He was employed by McDonnell Douglas and Electronic Data Systems as a Business Analyst and Systems Designer for the Health Insurance industry. He has been preparing tax returns with Sederburg & Associates since 2007.  Dale is married to Verna and they have four daughters and eight grandchildren. They enjoy attending the many activities of their grandchildren.

Julie Kaufmann
Julie was born and raised in St. Charles County, Missouri.  She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Maryville University and has over 20 years of Accounting experience, specializing in transactional tax and personal property assessments. Julie has worked for the American Red Cross, St. Louis Bi-State Chapter, Edward Jones, and GFI Digital prior to joining the Sederburg & Associates team as a tax preparer in 2020. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her three kids, exercising, and enjoying outdoors.

Cindy Giorgano
Cindy Giordano was born and has lived in the St. Louis area her entire life. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business and a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Administration. She has been with Sederburg & Associates for 8 years. She has almost 30 years of experience as a tax preparer and works part time during tax season helping with drop-off tax returns. Along with her full-time job, she continues to stay involved in tax preparation as she enjoys doing taxes and helping people get the best return possible. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her three sons and their families which includes her wonderful daughters-in-law and four grandchildren that she spoils constantly.

Jan Wester
Jan is a native of Missouri and has lived in St. Charles for the last 16 years. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in special education and a Master of Arts in educational administration. She has spent 34 years as a special education teacher.  She has prepared taxes for over 25 years and enjoys helping clients maximize their returns in a stress-free environment. Jan participates in an after-school program that supports children with disabilities and volunteers with “The Feral Companion” (a stray rescue group). When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with friends, swimming at the YMCA, and traveling.

Robert Detz
Robert has over 20+ years in the financial sector specializing in income documents, personal tax returns as well as business returns.  In his work as an actuary in the mortgage industry obtained numerous professional licenses including Certified Residential Underwriter CRU, VA Staff Appraisal Reviewer SAR, VA Credit underwriting authority and HUD Direct Endorsement DE. This is Robert’s first year with Sederburg & Associates, which has become a family affair.  Robert’s mother Maureen Detz, EA and his niece MacKenzie Taylor both work for the firm.
